Lumineers® offer a virtually painless way of giving you many of the same benefits as porcelain dental veneers without the need for injections or tooth reduction. What are Lumineers®?

Lumineers® are good for patients with mild chips, cracks, and stains, and yellowed teeth, but who may not need a full porcelain dental veneer to correct the problem. They are also great alternatives for those who have fears and anxieties when it comes to visiting the dentist. These dental veneers are different from porcelain veneers in that they are ultra-thin (about the width of a contact lens) and there is no need to drill and reduce the tooth being treated to make way for the Lumineer®. Lumineers® also offer long-lasting results, typically as long as porcelain veneers can last. Plus, Lumineers® are removable and can be taken out by the dentist at any time.

The Lumineers® Procedure

Another advantage of Lumineers® is that it often takes less time in the dentist’s chair to place them. On your first visit, we will take an impression of your teeth to get the most accurate measurements for the design of the Lumineer®, and then we will help you choose the shade of the Lumineer® that is consistent with your surrounding teeth. Once the Lumineer® is designed and color-tinted, it’s ready to be bonded onto the tooth upon your second visit. Then, the Lumineer® is polished smooth, typically resulting in a brand new, beautiful-looking tooth in only two office visits.

Lumismile Digital Imaging

To give you the most accurate expectations of how Lumineers® can help you improve the appearance of your teeth, Dental Implants Associates uses LUMIsmile Digital Imaging technology. This state-of-the-art system takes a picture of your teeth that is later digitally retouched to appear as though you have had a Lumineer® placed onto your tooth. The final image can give you an idea of how you will look with Lumineers® before you’ve even had the procedure. It’s a great way of deciding if Lumineers® can meet your ultimate goals beforehand, and giving you a much clearer picture of how they can work for your needs.
