What is bonding?
Dental bonding is a simple and quick way to enhance the appearance of your smile. During the bonding process, our skilled dentists place a material called composite resin on the existing tooth structure. This material is malleable when first placed, allowing us to sculpt the resin to fit the shape of the tooth and improve its appearance. When the resin is properly shaped, we use a special light to harden it. After making any final adjustments, we polish the tooth for a natural, healthy glow. In most cases, Dr. Hoffman, Dr. Flicker, and Dr. Sher are able to complete the bonding treatment in just one visit to our office.
What can dental bonding be used for?
Bonding can be used to improve the appearance of your smile by correcting a number of tooth flaws, such as:
- Worn-down teeth
- Cracked or fractured teeth
- Unsightly gaps and spaces between teeth
- Stained or discolored teeth
- Broken or chipped teeth
- Irregularly shaped teeth
- Slightly misaligned teeth
- Teeth with an uneven surface
